If you want to feel like a real cigar boss, then the Montecristo A is the perfect companion. Perhaps one of the longest Cuban cigars in the market, measuring at 235mm, it is very rare and undoubtedly unique. It was first introduced in the 1970s, and since then, has retained a reputation as the ultimate premium cigar smoked by the rich and wealthy. At one point, the cigar was recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the “most expensive cigar in the world”.
Constructing the Montecristo A isn’t easy, it requires a large enough tobacco leaf to wrap the roll in its entirety. Therefore, finding a suitable leaf is very rare, and will need an exceptionally skilled ‘Torcedor’, to be able to fully wrap the binder and filler to an unusual length.
Each cigar is beautifully presented within a varnished wooden “coffin”. The cigar is mild but has a rich and flavourful profile, you will be able to find notes of leather, wood and spice. You will be sure to enjoy this cigar for about 2 hours, with an impeccably smooth draw. The Montecristo A would make the ideal gift for someone special, pair it with a Montecristo Cigar Case or Montecristo Ashtray – making it even more perfect!
